The Top 10 Moving Pictures of 2020
To say this has been the most unusual year in motion picture history, would probably be an underlined understatement.
With COVID reducing the capacity at most box offices, studios opted to push most of their content out to 2021 or send it right to VOD in some limited cases. Leaving 2020 left with streaming service’s already planned roadmap for the year and studio left overs. One could argue this left us with an “asterisk” year, but you could also make the case it enabled others to shine through that may not have otherwise.
2020 brought about what viewers have been calling for for quite some time; a piece of content comprised of moving images to tell a story is the same no matter if you watch it in a theater or online, on your phone or in your home. Limited series, TV movie, film, documentary or blockbuster, they’re all a contained story, with a beginning and end, simply told in different ways. It’s now up to the viewers to decide how to watch; they get the choice. So this year, we’re not ranking films or TV, we’re ranking moving pictures - any piece of content with a contained story that you can enjoy. Enjoy!
